Monroe County Planning Commission

The Monroe County Planning Commission is an appointed advisory body of up to fifteen citizens appointed by the Monroe County Commission, established pursuant to the State Code of West Virginia, section 8a, which defines the purpose, operation and membership requirements for a Planning Commission. Briefly, its purpose is to oversee the development and review of the County's Comprehensive Plan as well as development of land use ordinances, resource protection, and development plans and guidelines for the County. The Planning Commission meets at least monthly, and all its meetings and work are open to the public.
